Email Marketing Does it live up to the Hype?
Ok, I know what you’re thinking. Does anyone even have email anymore? Girl. Yes. As much as we might be spending most of our time on social media, email is still and important way to reach your clients. Why? Well here is the unfortunate truth about your social media audience, you don’t own it. If Insta went away forever tomorrow, like…got bought by another company. If that was where you built your entire following, you my dear would be back at square one. Also, the majority of your social media audience only sees 6% of your posts. 6%?? Not. Good. Enough.
So why should I use Email Marketing, and how effective is it?
What great questions, -I like you. Here is the thing, there are TONS of ways to market your business. So, you don’t have to use Email marketing, but it IS one of the least expensive ways to market yourself. How effective is it? It is actually the MOST effective form of marketing. In fact, the return on investment for email marketing is $44 for every $1 invested. Yes. It’s worth it.
How do I get started?
Getting started can be intimidating. But the easiest way is to start collecting addresses. Collect an email address from each of your clients when they book a service. Set up a website with an email catcher. There are plenty of low budget easy to set up sites that can do this. Then you can choose to manage it yourself or use and automated system.
The automated system is more predictable and will get your more reliable results. There is a TON to choose from, some popular providers are Mail Chimp, SendGrind, or Constant Contact, most of them have a low cost or even a free basic service if you just need simple list management. If even that sounds too technical, hire a freelancer to set up your service for you and get you up and rolling.
Are you a do-it-yourself girl?
I like it. Be a boss babe. This might be a great place to invest in an E-course. There are some great ones out there. Abbi Perets has one that includes Email templates that have proven successful and Jenna Kutcher (the queen of Insta) has one that even walks you through the ways to set up your list in the software systems. If you’re going to run your own business, you have to adopt a CEO mindset. Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself. If this sounds intimidating remember all the questions in your mind have answers. The only thing standing between where you are now and all the knowledge you need is a google search bar.
When in doubt look to Beyonce.
Queen B is a business queen. I mean she has a net worth of $1 BILLION! (Yeah, billion with a B.) She famously said “I don’t like to gamble, but if there is one thing I’m willing to bet on, it’s myself.” So be like Beyonce, and remind yourself, -You got this.
