Tan Spray Tips: How to Maintain Your Airbrush Tan

Hi Tan Babes!

We’ve already covered how to prep for your airbrush tan—now let’s talk about how to maintain that gorgeous glow, shall we?

When properly cared for, a high-quality airbrush tan can last 7–10 days. Here are some insider tips to help you keep your golden radiance going strong:

✨ After Tan Appointment:

  • Wait 8–12 hours before showering to allow your tan to fully develop. For best results, wait a full 24 hours.
  • Avoid lotions or oils during this development window—they can cause streaking.
  • Skip workouts or anything that makes you sweat until after your first rinse. (Hey, it’s the perfect excuse for a rest day!)

🚿 Your First Shower After Tan:

  • Use lukewarm water only—no soap, no shaving, no sponges. Just a gentle rinse.
  • Pat dry with a towel—don’t rub!
  • Don’t panic if you see color washing off—it’s just the cosmetic bronzer, not your actual tan.

💧 After Your First Shower:

  • You can now shave and use soap, but avoid:
    • Bar soaps
    • BHA/AHA products
    • Toners or anything with high alcohol content
  • Moisturize daily with a water-based lotion to keep your skin hydrated and your tan looking fresh.
  • Drink plenty of water! Hydrated skin = a smoother, longer-lasting tan.

🛁 A Few More Tips:

  • Avoid hot tubs, pools, and long baths—they’ll fade your tan faster.
  • Skip the scrubs and loofahs—they exfoliate your tan right off.
  • Watch out for products with alcohol or mineral oil—they’ll strip your tan. Use a high-quality moisturizer designed to extend your glow, like our upcoming Evolv Daily Glo Moisturizer (coming soon!).

☀️ Important Reminder:

An airbrush tan does not provide sun protection. Always apply sunscreen to protect your skin and keep that golden glow safe!
